The Basics:

1.) House at least 2 visiting athletes in your home. At least one adult in your home must be Jewish.

2.) Feed the athletes breakfast each morning, and dinner on Sunday night and Tuesday night.

3.) Transport the athletes as detailed below.

4.) Entertain your athletes on Host Family Night.

5.) Involve Yourself in the Games! Attend opening ceremonies, volunteer to help at a sports venue or serve meals, and spend time with your athletes.

The Details:

Sleeping Accommodations
1.) Each athlete requires separate sleeping space, i.e. separate bed, pull-out couch, cot or air mattress. Athletes cannot share a bed.

Meals and Snacks:

1.) Provide breakfast for your athletes Monday through Friday.

2.) Provide dinner on Sunday, Aug. 3, prior to Opening Ceremonies, and on Host Family Night.

3.) The athletes will all be teenagers and, as such, welcome evening snacks. Pretzels, fruit, cereal, cheese, etc. would be great!

4.) All lunches will be provided by the JCC Maccabi Games®. provides snacks during the day and at evening programs.

Driving/Carpool:

1.) Pick-up athletes at the JCC on arrival day--Sunday, Aug. 3 and transport them to and from Opening Ceremonies.. Families are strongly encouraged to attend the Opening Ceremonies.

2.) Drop-off the athletes at a designated drop-off location/hub or their athletic venue each morning.

3.) Pick-up the athletes at designated areas each evening. The pick-up time is generally around 10:00 p.m. On Host Family Night pick-up time will be approximately 5:00 p.m.

4.) No local or visiting athletes may drive during the week of the JCC Maccabi Games.

5.) All drivers must be credentialed Host Family members and must be 21 years of age or older. All drivers must possess a valid United States driver’s license.

6.) Bus Transportation will be provided to/from the Lawrence Family Jewish Community center JACOBS FAMILY CAMPUS for all competing athletes.

Host Family Night

1.) Your chance to show the athletes a fun evening! Go out for ice cream, bowling, movies, etc. Join another host family and make it a party.

Laundry:

1.) Athletes will need clean uniforms daily. Please provide access to laundry facilities, so they may do their wash.

Maccabi Host Families will be asked to attend ONE mandatory orientation this summer: Dates will be announced. For more information about hosting (or if you would like to join the Housing Committee)
